CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - A teenager was seriously injured after being run over by a minivan in Cedar Rapids Friday afternoon.

Cedar Rapids Police and firefighters found a 15-year-old male unconscious at the intersection of 42nd Street and Center Point Road NE in Cedar Rapids just after 3 p.m. Friday.

The driver of the vehicle, Robert Coover, Jr., 44, drove to the Hy-Vee Drugstore parking lot on Blairs Ferry Road NE to call in the collision, according to police.

The 15-year-old was apparently crossing Center Point Road NE from east to west when he was struck by Coover Jr.'s Nissan minivan making a left turn off of 42nd Street north onto Center Point Road NE.

The condition of the 15-year-old, or which hospital he was taken to, is unknown.

Police arrested Coover Jr. and charged him with driving with a suspended license. Officials noted other charges may be possible.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office and Hiawatha Police assisted.
