WAVERLY (KWWL) - Strotman Building Center in Waverly is gearing up to celebrate its 100th anniversary of business in June.

According to Shelley Denner, an office manager at Strotman, they began business in 1914 and it has been in the same location on 5th Street NW for 100 years.

Denner said the business survived a major fire in 1977 as well as the floods of 2008.

To celebrate, employees are hosting an open house with food and door prizes on Friday, June 6, from 3-7 p.m.

"We really appreciate the community support over the 100 years, and we look forward to serving our community for many more years," said Denner.
