It appears the worst part of the storm Thursday afternoon will hit the northwest part of the KWWL viewing area.

A tornado watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday for areas along and west of I-35. That watch includes Franklin and Hardin counties.

Scattered showers and a few non-severe storms stay in our area until around 4 p.m.

After 4 p.m., a piece of energy will ride out of western Iowa into our area, triggering another round of storms. Some of these storms Thursday evening could produce gusty winds and some hail.

Storms should exit the area by midnight, and a drier air mass will encompass the area on Friday.

As we head toward Mother's Day, another storm system will bring rain and storms to the area.

This will be the third consecutive Sunday with rain following Easter Sunday. Sorry Moms!
