TOLEDO (KWWL) -

The state has rejected a request to pay a teen $500,000 after claims that she spent nine months in isolation at the Iowa Juvenile Home.

The home in Toledo was closed earlier this year by the governor.

Jessica Turner is saying the state violated her constitutional rights by inflicting cruel and unusual punishment.

Turner's attorney hasn't shared whether she plans to file a lawsuit against the state.
