Seattle Historian to speak at Dubuque's River Museum

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium will host a presentation on American explorer Jedediah Smith on Saturday, May 12, 2014 at noon.

Jedediah Smith is one of the foremost explorers in American history, having discovered south pass and several routes to California, according to the press release. During the presentation, Smith will also be inducted to the National Rivers Hall of Fame at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium.

Seattle historian, James C. Auld, will host a brief talk about Smith, not only about his background and national explorations, but his time on the Upper Mississippi River.

The presentation is free and open to the public. The presentation will take place in the Museum's Journey Theater.
