CORALVILLE (KWWL) -

Saturday was the perfect weather for a city-wide cleanup in Coralville.

People could drop off or pick up items at the city wide Swap Day.

Furniture, household items, clothes and other items were accepted.

The earth-friendly event kicks off Mayor's Clean Up Week.

The Swap Day has been going on for 10 years, and had grown every year since.

"Well this is great, we're having a great day for the weather and we've received many, many types of items and it keep these types of things out of the landfill," said Recycle swap coordinator Dawn Stoddard.

As part of Mayor's Week the city also offered a community on-site shredding event.

People could drop off personal papers to be shredded to prevent identity theft.
