Man arrested in Asbury on drug charges

One man is behind bars, following a drug-related arrest early Friday morning in Asbury.

At 4:44 a.m., Officials with the Dubuque and Asbury police departments, as well as the Dubuque County sheriff's office, Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement and the Dubuque Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 2152 Palmer Drive, in Asbury. That's according to a release from Dubuque Drug Task Force director Gary Pape.

Officials found several people inside, including 28-year-old Suong Giang. They discovered 5.8 ounces of marijuana and several handguns. Officials arrested Giang for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and interference with officials acts. The former is a class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison, and the latter is a simple misdemeanor with a penalty of up to 30 days in jail.

Giang is in the Dubuque County Jail.
