While her sister 13 year-old Taylor Hogan will be competing in her first national competition in the level nine gymnastics tournament Friday in Boise, Idaho.

Both Sydney and Taylor earned their way to nationals with strong performances recently at state and regional competitions---

Beam is Sydney's specialty--she won a regional championship in the event last year.

Both sisters are very close--motivating and inspiring each other to do their best.

Sydney said, "That was a really fun part because..going in it with her she was just as nervous. I know exactly how she feels, she knows exactly how I feel.
"We work out together, we do everything together and making it was icing on the cake."

According to Taylor, "Just seeing her go out there and do all the big skills and I want to do that some day and just being able to watch her make it through everything." We are very close..we do a lot together."
As for their goals at Nationals, Sydney said,
I want to hit my four events--4 of 4 events I know I can hit. And beam because that is my best event--I want to hit it like I know I can."
While Taylor said, "I want to go and hit all four routines like I know I can. And place on an event."
