Cedar Rapids U.S. Bank robbed Wednesday; suspect on loose

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Police are asking for the public's help locating a suspect who held up a southwest Cedar Rapids bank Wednesday.

Cedar Rapids Police responded to an armed robbery of the U.S. Bank at 129 16th Ave. SW in Cedar Rapids just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers say a black male wearing a black hoodie and a black mask covering his mouth entered the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded cash.

The suspect was also wearing blue jeans and blue gloves, officials say. He allegedly left the bank on foot in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported in the hold-up.

Police released several photographs from the bank's security cameras Wednesday evening.
