Damaging winds, hail threaten eastern Iowa Sunday night

Showers and storms will become more numerous as we head into the evening and overnight hours Sunday.

We still have the threat for some severe storms with the main threat looking to be damaging winds and hail.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for our southern counties til 9 p.m. Sunday. This includes Iowa City south to Washington.

We will continue with windy conditions through Sunday night, with winds around 15-30 out of the east with higher gusts in and around storms.

Storm chance will taper off toward Monday morning, but more storms are likely during Monday afternoon.
