Dubuque Farmer's Market set to open in May

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The 169th opening day for the Dubuque Farmers' Market will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 7 a.m. to noon.

The farmers' market will host a variety of activities for the public, including free musical entertainment, several read-to-eat food vendors on site, and a wide variety of new and returning venders, all in the area around City Hall in downtown Dubuque.

This year Dubuque Main Street and the Farmers' Market planning committee have also created an interactive map of the market and a searchable database of productions available at the market. The interactive map will indicate the presence of vendors by date at the market. It will also give shoppers a better idea if a certain vendor will be at the market on any Saturday during the 2014 season. The interactive map also allows shoppers to learn more about where their food is coming from through online profiles.
