Cy-Hawk softball game ends in 6-6 tie

Posted: Updated:
AMES (KWWL) - Nobody won the annual Cy-Hawk softball game on Wednesday. Darkness forced an end to the contest with the Hawkeyes and Cyclones tied at 6 apiece. Light became a factor after a lengthy rain delay in the bottom of the first.
Iowa State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and led 6-3 in the 4th inning after Rachel Hartman knocked an RBI base hit to right.
Iowa charged back in the 5th and final inning behind home runs from Brianna Luna and Megan Blank tying the game at 6 apiece. The Hawkeyes hit a total of 4 home runs in the game.
After Iowa State failed to score in the bottom of the inning, the game was called, ending in a 6-6 tie.
