Cedar Falls officer injured after incident with suspected drunk driver

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

A Waterloo man faces drunken driving and other charges after police say he hit a Cedar Falls police officer with his car Saturday morning.

Police say a car driven by 24-year-old Michael Claney struck the officer on the 100 block of Main Street before 2 a.m.

The officer was not seriously hurt.

Claney faces charges of 2nd offense OWI, interference causing injury, and assault on a peace officer.
