Roughriders survive Dubuque rally to even series 1-1

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - A 5-0 lead turned out to not be enough as the Cedar Rapids Roughriders needed one more late to defeat Dubuque 6-5 and tie their best of 5 series at 1 apiece.
Corey Petrash scored the winning goal with 52 ticks left on the clock to give Cedar Rapids the win.
The Roughriders had appeared to put the game out of reach scoring 4 first period goals, while Andrew Poturalski scored early in the second to make it 5-0. The Fighting Saints, however, counted with 3 goals in a 60 second span, and Seamus Malone scored the equalizer with 9:51 remaining in the game.
The series now tied 1-1 shifts to Dubuque on Friday.
