LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

One person is injured as a result of a field fire in Linn County.

Authorities say the fire started as a controlled burn near St. Patrick's Road when it got out of control, spreading quickly into a neighboring farm field.

Several fire departments including Fairfax, Ely, Atkins, Swisher and Amana responded.

Wright Brothers Blvd was shut down for nearly an hour between Highway 151 and Lefebure Rd.

Fire officials say a woman driving on Wright Brothers Blvd. lost control in the heavy smoke and ran off the roadway.

There was no damage to the vehicle, but the woman received minor injuries after stepping out of her car into a ditch.

The fire is still under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s office.
