Full-Time Morning Master Control/Automated Production Operator

KWWL-TV (NBC – Waterloo, Iowa) is seeking a highly motivated operator for its award-winning, state-of-the-art production and master control facility.

This position would operate in both the automated Master Control and the automated Production Control environments. We are looking for someone who is a multi-tasking specialist, someone who knows what the goal is and how to achieve it!

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

*College degree, or 4 years of equivalent work experience in broadcast television.
*Knowledge of standard practices in an automated production environment.
*Knowledge of standard practices in an automated Master Control environment.
*Knowledge of FCC requirements for broadcast facilities, including transmission and tower light logging, and EAS notifications.
*Must possess the ability to make quick, accurate decisions.
*Knowledge/Operation of a variety of computer operating systems, and the ability to learn new programs quickly and effectively.
*Knowledge/Operation of Adobe Production Suite, with emphasis in Photoshop, AfterEffects, Premiere, and Encore.
*Willingness to perform primary problem-solving actions when dealing with equipment and possess the ability to report any problems accurately.
*Ability to effectively communicate in a fast-paced environment.
*SBE Certification, or course work to achieve Operator status.
*Knowledge of basic editing, linear and non-linear
*Knowledge of the Vision line of Ross Switchers, Ross Overdrive Automation, Yamaha audio consoles, Xpression graphics system, Harris Automation and Content Handling preferred.
*Knowledge of broadcast lighting, set design, and maintenance engineering are a plus.


*Physically ability to lift 50 lbs, climb tall ladders, move studio cameras and set pieces.
*Must have valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
*Speech and Hearing abilities that allows for ability to hear and respond to equipment and other crew members.
*Vision ability to see all monitoring equipment effectively.
*Possess manual dexterity to quickly move between various positions and respond accurately with necessary corrective measures.
*Must be capable of traversing rugged terrain at dish site to remove snow from dishes.
*While normal operating hours would be 4 a.m.-1 p.m., alternate scheduling may be necessary.
