WATERLOO (KWWL) -
A fight between two families involved about 30 people, according to Waterloo Police.
Authorities say it happened Monday evening in Waterloo, at the corner of Hammond Ave. and South St. Police on scene said it involved multiple members of both families, including "mothers, grandmothers and children."
Police say when they arrived to stop the altercation, one person fled, and officers pursued. They also told KWWL that they found a gun in a vehicle, which they believe was brandished in the fight. An officer's initial assessment was that the firearm was legally owned.
At least 4 people have been taken into custody. It's unclear at this point if charges will be filed.
