NORTH LIBERTY (AP) -

An eastern Iowa woman has been accused of slowly stealing more than $100,000 in cash from her employer.

North Liberty police say 59-year-old Peggy A. Ashby took money from CarePro Liberty Pharmacy between December 2012 and March.

She is accused of stealing from the business' daily sales intake by falsifying deposit records.

Police say the theft occurred on an almost daily basis.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports Ashby was arrested Sunday but records show she has been released from jail. She faces charges of first-degree theft and ongoing criminal conduct.

Court records do not list an attorney. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 28.
