ALLAMAKEE COUNTY (KWWL) -

The Allamakee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a series of break-ins near Lansing. According to Allamakee County Sheriff Clark Mellick, the break-ins happened at cabins which were not being used during the winter months. Mellick said several items were stolen including numerous guns.

"We urge people that are coming back to the area and opening up their cabins for the season to let us know if there is anything that has been damaged or out of place. [We urge them to] call us prior to moving the items around so we can gather evidence," Mellick said Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office at 563-568-4521.
