Dubuque health officials investigating dog bite

The City of Dubuque's Health Services Department wants to find a dog after a reported bite Monday afternoon.

A postal worker delivering mail on his route says a dog bit him in the 2300 block of Washington Street around 2:50 p.m. Monday.

The dog is described as a possible pit bull terrier with mainly white fur with black markings. The dog was being walked by a woman at the time of the incident. She was described as being an African American, approximately 30 years old, and about 5’4” tall.

Health Department wants to find the dog to verify its health and vaccination history.

Anyone with information can contact the Health Services Department at (563) 589-4185 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. or the Law Enforcement Center at (563) 589-4415 after hours or on the weekend.
