DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Dubuque Police Department responded Wednesday night to two reports of shots fired.

The first call came in shortly after 10 p.m., in the area of 15th and Jackson streets. Dubuque police spokesperson Lt. Scott Baxter said this report went unconfirmed, as officers were unable to find any evidence of shots fired.

Four minutes later, however, officers were sent to the area of Henion and Pickett streets, part of which includes Loras College campus, for another report of shots fired. There, officers found physical evidence and witnesses that confirmed shots had been fired.

Investigators are now following up on leads generated during the initial investigation and are developing new leads as well.

Baxter said no injuries have been reported to the police.
