Police in Iowa City have a suspect in custody accused of exposing himself to elementary school students.
Police arrested 46-year-old Anthony Hudson of Iowa City on Wednesday.
Officers say they set up surveillance on the 1800 block of Benton St. after getting a complaint that said a man was exposing himself to passing elementary students.
On Tuesday, the surveillance officer says he observed a man “masturbating” in a street-facing doorway at 1848 Benton St., but the suspect disappeared before officers made contact.
Police say Hudson matched the description of the suspect and they obtained a warrant.
Officers say he was taken into custody on Wednesday while his pants were unzipped in the same street-facing doorway.
Hudson is charged with four counts of Indecent Exposure.
Police say the investigation into him and his activities continues.
Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers at 319-358-TIPS (8477).
