City reminds residents of spring yard waste collection options

Posted: Updated:
IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

With the warm weather, comes the spring yard work.

As residents begin preparing yards for the spring season, Iowa City wants to make sure your yard waste like leaves, clippings, branches, and grass should be separate from household garbage.

Curbside pickup of yard waste is available on regular garbage collection days.

When disposing yard waste the city offers three options: purchase an annual yard waste sticker to place on a container, use Iowa City yard waste bags, or bundle all wood yard waste for curbside pick up.

The city does not have a spring leaf curbside vacuum program.

Contact the Solid Waste Division at 319-356-5180 with any questions regarding yard waste disposal.
