DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The City of Dubuque will begin its weekly curbside collection of yard waste and food scraps for solid waste customers beginning on Monday, April 7th.

Yard waste materials must be placed in paper yard waste bags that display single-use yard waste stickers, rigid solid waste containers with single-use yard waste stickers looped around the handles, rigid solid waste containers that display the City's 2014 annual yard waste decal, or in a subscribed City wheeled cart.

Food scraps collected by the City may be put into food scrap collection cards (13, 48, or 64 gallons) for a fee or scraps may be placed in with grass clippings, leaves, and other yard debris in their current yard waste cans, carts, and bags.

Both yard waste and food scraps should not be placed in plastic bags and must be kept separate from other trash. Yard waste and food scraps will be collected on customers' regular solid waste collection days.
