CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - A small fire on a Delta Airlines flight forced 53 people to evacuate the plane Thursday morning in Cedar Rapids.

Officials at the Eastern Iowa Airport say a small fire broke out in the auxiliary power unit of Delta flight 5115 just after 10 a.m. Thursday. The auxiliary power unit is located in the tail region of the plane and is used to power the electrical systems.

All 50 passengers and three crew members were immediately evacuated from the plane. There were no injuries.

Most passengers were being booked on other flights.

Michelle Corless will have reaction from passengers on the KWWL News at 5 and 6.
