DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Old Man Winter has cost the City of Dubuque $1.361 million -- so far.

The City of Dubuque has about $109,000 left in the City’s $1.47 million snow budget, and whatever is left over will go toward buying salt for next year.

Dubuque Streets and Sewer Maintenance Supervisor John Klostermann says the city has used nearly 11,000 tons of salt this year.

KKlostermannsays overtime and holiday pay have been line items costing the city this year. The city spent about $100,000 more than originally allocated to paying employees overtime and holiday pay.

Klostermann is not worried. He says that money will come out of the city’s overall snow budget and other line items will even the budget out.
