INDEPENDENCE (KWWL) - Two people were hospitalized after a crash on Highway 150 Tuesday morning.

The crash, which blocked both directions of Hwy. 150 between County Road D16 and IA 281 north of Independence, happened around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday near 185th Street.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office says a car driven by Elliot Ryan was headed south on Hwy. 150 when a northbound vehicle driven by Cory McBride, also of Independence, crossed the center line, colliding with Ryan's vehicle.

Ryan was airlifted to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, McBride was taken to Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.
