ISU beats UNC; advances to the Sweet 16

SAN ANTONIO (KWWL) - The Iowa State Cyclones are headed to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2000. The Cyclones DeAndre Kane scored with less than 2 seconds to go to propel the Cyclones to victory over N. Carolina by a score of 85 to 83.  Kane had a team high 24 points and 10 rebounds. Former Linn-Mar High School standout, Marcus Paige, had the team high for the Tar Heels with 19 points.  The 3rd seeded Cyclones will now play Friday against 7 seed Connecticut at Madison Square Garden in New York City in the East Regional Semifinal.  Game time has not yet been set.
