DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The 5th annual Taste of the World fundraiser for Dubuque's Multicultural Family Center took place in Dubuque Saturday afternoon. The event showcases food, games, and facts about 25 different countries represented by transplants to Dubuque.

Abeni El-Amin is the executive director of the Multicultural Family Center in Dubuque. She said each year the event draws hundreds to the Dubuque area. She said the event is a way to celebrate diversity.

"Dubuque is not the same place that it used to be. The world is here and Dubuque is part of the world," El-Amin said Saturday.

This year the city of Dubuque was also highlighted in the event.
