IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
Just imagine opening an envelope with your future inside.
That's exactly what 150 University of Iowa medical students did Friday.
The four-year graduating students took part in Match Day, along with thousands of other medical students around the country, to find out where they "matched" for their medical residency training, after graduation.
Among this year's graduates, 49 of them will remain here in Iowa for their first-year of post-grad training.
The most popular state after Iowa for first-year training was California, with 11 graduating students beginning their residencies there. Ten graduates will be heading to Wisconsin and eight will be starting their training Missouri and Minnesota each.
