The City of Waterloo is demolition the old Lafayette Elementary School in Waterloo.

Mayor Buck Clark says Waterloo is paying to demolish the school, but the Black Hawk Contracting and Development will buy the property when the demolition is finished.

The development will mean property tax revenue for the city in the long-run, and the developer was given a deal for the land.

Clark calls the deal a “win-win” for both parties.
