Dubuque Mayor Roy Buol to give State of the City address

Posted: Updated:
DUBUQUE (KWWL) - Dubuque Mayor Roy Buol will present his annual State of the City address Wednesday at the Grand River Center.

A theme of Mayor Buol's address will feature how citizens, planning and partnerships are creating the blueprint for long-term livability in Dubuque.

"The most important asset in our city has always been found in the very nature of our citizens. There is an extremely prevailing and positive force that is working together to build a distinctive, vibrant sense of place for all who choose Dubuque as their home," Buol said.

The 30-minute program will include a multimedia presentation followed by a question-and-answer session with Mayor Buol and City Manager Mike Van Milligen. City of Dubuque department and division managers will also be seated with guests to invite questions and suggestions.

The reception will begin at 5:15 p.m. followed by dinner, and the address at 6:45 p.m. The public is invited to attend; Chamber members can attend for $35 and non-members for $45.

The event will be recorded and televised on CityChannel Dubuque, which are channels 8 and 85.2 for Mediacom customers. It will also become available for viewing on the City website: www.cityofdubuque.org/media.
