Money approved for 'Operation Thaw' in Black Hawk Co.

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A total of $125,000 is now officially available to people in Waverly, Waterloo and several other communities through "Operation Thaw."

The program is to help low-income homeowners deal with frozen pipes.

The Black Hawk County Gaming Association approved the money to be administered through Operation Threshold.

As of Monday, "Operation Thaw" has received 180 phone calls, most of them from Black Hawk County.
