Iowa State women get #7 seed in NCAA tourney vs. Florida St.

AMES (KWWL) - The Iowa State Cyclones received a great seed in NCAA Tournament play Monday night and will play their first game to a home crowd.

The Iowa State women (20-10, 9-9 Big 12) were seeded #7 in the Stanford Region and will play their first round against #10 seeded Florida State in the Hilton Coliseum in Ames.

The Cyclones have won three of their last five games, falling to Oklahoma State in the first round of the Big 12 Championship.

The Seminoles (20-11, 7-9 ACC) have also won three of their last five, and are a respectable 8-5 in away games. The Cyclones, however, are 11-5 at home.

The game will be broadcast at 3 p.m. Saturday on ESPN2.
