Posted: Updated:
IOWA CITY (KWWL) - The Iowa Hawkeyes knew they would be playing at home in the NCAA Women's Tournament. Now they know who they'll face.

On Monday evening, the Hawkeye women (26-8, 11-5 Big 10) were given a #6 seed and it was announced they'll face #11 seed Marist in the Louisville Region.

Should the Hawks advance to the second round, they'll continue their home-court advantage at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. They're 13-3 in Iowa City.

The Hawkeyes have won six of their last seven games, three of them in the Big 10 Tournament, where they were finally beaten in the final by Nebraska, ranked 15th in the nation.

Marist (27-6), the MAAC champions for 11 consecutive years, have won nine of their last 10 games.

The game will be broadcast at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
