UPDATE: State Patrol car hit on I-80 near Oxford

Posted: Updated:
An Iowa State trooper went to the hospital after his car was hit Friday morning while he was inside.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety says Trooper Hernandez was investigating an accident on westbound Interstate 80, near Oxford, when a semi hit a service vehicle which then hit Hernandez's car. Hernandez refused medical care at first, but after the adrenaline wore off, he went to the hospital for a check up.

No one was injured in either accident, but I-80 was down to one lane in the area for more than an hour while crews cleaned up the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
