Mines of Spain to host Owl Prowl

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Iowa DNR and the Friends of Mines of Spain will be hosting a program about owls at the  E.B. Lyons Interpretive Center at the Mines of Spain Recreation Area in Dubuque on March 22nd at 6:30 p.m. The program called "Owl Prowl" will explore the life of an owl. Jared McGovern from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, will provide information about owls including facts about how owls can see in the dark, how they can hear a mouse moving thru the leaves, and why they are called the Ghost Bird.

After the indoor program, guests are invited to venture outdoors to call in Barred Owls, Screech Owls and Great Horned Owls.
