CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The City of Cedar Rapids will continue to follow new Department of Transportation rules for traffic cameras -- despite a lawsuit in Sioux City.

The rules require cities prove cameras on state highways and interstates are need for safety reasons.

A communications manager for the City of Cedar Rapids says she has not heard of plans to file a lawsuit similar to Sioux City's.

The Sioux City lawsuit asks a judge to throw out the rules.
