Police: 14-year-old nearly abducted in Waterloo Wednesday

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A 14-year-old girl was nearly abducted by two men while she was walking to Waterloo East High School on Wednesday morning.

It happened at around 8 a.m. Wednesday, as the student approached a group of five men near the intersection of Argyle Street and Iowa Street.

According to police, two of the men grabbed the student and tried dragging her towards an abandoned home.

The student got away and then ran to East High School, where she reported the attempted abduction to authorities.

Waterloo Police immediately went to the area of the attempted abduction, but did not find the men.

The victim was unable to give police a detailed description of the suspects at this time.
