Clarence man arrested after trying to trade sex for boat trailer

Posted: Updated:
MARION (KWWL) - A Clarence man was arrested for prostitution Monday after police say he tried to trade sex for a boat trailer.

Stan Syring, 37, of Clarence, was arrested by Marion Police and charged with prostitution, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Syring was transported to the Linn County Jail.

Police say Syring posted an advertisement to Craigslist offering to trade an unspecified sex act in exchange for a boat trailer.

An undercover officer with the Marion Police Department responded on Tuesday, March 4, and arranged to meet Syring on Monday via email.

Police say Syring met the undercover officer in person Monday and agreed to participate in a sex act in exchange for the boat trailer.

Marion Police say they "regularly" investigate prostitution and human trafficking via internet sites.
