Cedar Rapids group files complaint over image on fire truck

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - After 16 years, a Cedar Rapids group has filed a complaint over an image on the side of a bucket on a ladder truck house by the Cedar Rapids Central Fire Department.

The Cedar Rapids Human Rights Commission filed the complaint.

The picture shows an outline of a shepherd with the words, "The Lord is my shepherd."

Department official Greg Buelow says the depiction was already on the truck when the department took possession of it in 1997 because it was a demo model.

He says officials are trying to look for ways to make the picture more inclusive by depicting other symbols from other religions.
