Running 'Nearly Naked' for those in need

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Close to 400 people left most of their clothes at home for the S.T.A.T. Ambassadors 6th annual Nearly Naked Mile.

It was around 20 degrees Saturday morning, but that didn't stop runners from showing some skin.

"You know when you run a race, you're going to get hot, and at least today you won't so there you go," said runner Samir Khoda.

Student Ambassador Mike Faust says last year it was snowing, so they'll take temperatures in the 20s.

To take part, runners donated a piece of clothing.

The race helps donate clothing for the United Action for Youth's annual clothing drive.
