Hudson falls in 2A title game

Posted: Updated:

Jamie Gesink scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and top-ranked Western Chrsitian blew past No. 4 Hudson 79-55 Friday night to win its third straight Class 2A state championship.

Kenzie Bousema and Summer Jansen had 13 points each for the Wolfpack (27-1), who dominated by getting the ball inside and scoring in transition. Alissa Pollema, the only starter back from last year's team, finished with 12 assists and seven points.

Lindsey Koch scored 20 points for Hudson (25-2), which simply couldn't keep up with the more talented Wolfpack.

Casey Miles added 11 points and seven rebounds and Corey Miles also scored 11.

Western Christian had never won a state tournament game before 2012. Now the Wolfpack have won nine games in a row at state.
