IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Police in Iowa City arrested and charged a local cab driver in connection with a January 15 sexual assault.

Officers say the victim picked a picture of Rufino Ruiz out of a series of photographs, saying he was the cab driver that took her to her home.

The victim says the night of the incident, she was getting a ride home from from downtown Iowa City from a cab driver, and when they arrived at her home the driver began to fondle her breasts, rubbed her inner thighs and tried to put his hand in her pants.

She also said she told the driver to stop while she was trying to open the door of the cab and get out of the vehicle; she says the man driving the cab drove away as she was running to her building.

Ruiz faces two misdemeanor charges of assault.
