Posted: Updated:

The Iowa Department of Corrections says a man placed on escape status after not returning to a Dubuque work release facility has been caught in Wisconsin.

Corrections officials say 41-year-old Jon Jozef Myers was placed on escape status after not returning to the Dubuque Work Release Facility on Monday.

Myers was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of assault with a weapon in Winneshiek County. Myers began his sentence on August 1, 2012 and was transferred to work release on October 4, 2013.

Corrections officials say Myers is currently in the Lafayette County Wisconsin Jail.
