UPDATE: Waverly man still in jail after Red Fox Inn stabbing

Police say a Waverly man charged with stabbing another man in a bar fight remains in jail.

Woodrow "Woody" Hall remains in the Bremer County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Hall is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on the charge of willful injury at 4 p.m. Friday.



Police have arrested a Waverly man for his role in a fight and stabbing early Wednesday morning in Waverly.

Woodrow "Woody" John Hall, 42, of Waverly, was arrested Wednesday and charged with willful injury, a Class C felony.

Hall is currently in the Bremer County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

Waverly Police say Hall pursued another man from the Happy Hour Pub and through the hallways of the Red Fox Inn in Waverly just after midnight on Wednesday.

Hall then brandished a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times, causing a life-threatening injury, according to police.

The unnamed victim was transported by ambulance to the Waverly Health Center and then transferred to Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Police say he is still in intensive care.



A man is in critical condition after a fight in Waverly Wednesday morning.

Captain Jason Leonard of the Waverly Police Department says officers were called to the Red Fox Inn early Wednesday morning for a reported fight in progress.

Leonard says one man was taken to Waverly Municipal Hospital before being transferred to Allen Hospital. Leonard says that man is listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

One person is in police custody as the investigation continues.

Police have not released any names or any other details on the incident.
