Hawks set NCAA Wrestling Single Season Attendance mark

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The University of Iowa Wrestling program set an NCAA division one single season attendance record of 61,843 fans or an average of 8,835 fans in seven dual meets.  

Iowa also became the first school in NCAA history to host three duals with more than 10,000 fans---the Hawks led the nation in attendance-- Iowa State was fourth and UNI, 9th.

    Former Waterloo East stand-out Kyven Gadson defeated Micah Burak 3-0 to win the 97 kilogram title at the U.S. Open Champions on Saturday night. Gadson's take-down midway through the match helped seal the victory, the biggest so far after his 2015 NCAA championship.
