STANWOOD (KWWL) -

The Cedar County Sheriff’s Office confirms a moose was spotted near Stanwood along Highway 30 Tuesday.

Authorities advise anyone who sees the moose should keep his/her distance.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has records of a moose roaming near Protivin, Fairbank, Jesup, Independence, Winthrop and southeast Cedar Rapids last fall.

Officials are not yet saying if this is the same moose.
