Dyersville man killed after train collides with car in Earlville

EARLVILLE (KWWL) - A Dyersville man was killed when a train collided with his car Monday morning.

Jose Moncada-Nava, 36, of Dyersville, was driving south on Northwest Street in Earlville at around 4:45 a.m. Monday when his vehicle got into the path of an eastbound Canadian Nation train, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Moncada-Nava's Nissan Altima was hit on the passenger side and came to rest about 50 feet away from the collision site, according to officials.

Moncada-Nava was transported to Manchester Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Delaware County Sheriff's Department and Earlville Ambulance.
