Eastern Iowans scoop out of weekend snowstorm

Posted: Updated:

It's just another winter day for Roger Buchholz of Cedar Falls.

"I've been doing it for a few years," he said while he shoveled his driveway Saturday afternoon.

Buchholz said he's lost track of how many times he's had to scoop himself out of a snowstorm.

"This year, I don't know. Who can keep track?" he asked.

Buchholz said he shovels until snow totals reach six inches before he'll consider using a snow blower.

"Just good exercise," he said. "I need the exercise."

Meanwhile, down the street Mike Brown was plowing out his in-law's driveway.

"I've been doing this a lot this year," he laughed.

If he could have it his way, Brown said he'd be using the snow blower less often.

"I want to see 60's by the end of the week," he laughed.
